Indoor air can be cleaned with the help of special equipment, or air purifiers. Impurities are separated from the air by means of special filters, layer, electricity, activated carbon, water.

Ordinary water filters act as humidifiers. Particulate pollutants pass through a very fine mist of water, produced in the filter. There precipitate and flows into the tank at the bottom of the device. The drawback of this method is that the water very quickly and often develop different microbial contamination. Filters with activated carbon or other material with sorption properties eliminate some gaseous pollutants: nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide and volatile organic compounds much.

The filters in air purifiers

Filters ordinary sandwich only eliminate particles of pollen: pollen, plant spores, human hair, dust, earth, coal dust and animal, as well as others. Most of them can be cleaned many times. Electrostatic filters operate in such a way that the air flowing through them, bathes and cleanses the thin wires, connected to a high voltage, and this causes a positive charge, contained in the dust particles. After the air passes between the plates, negatively charged, to which the particles are attracted. This allows various impurities deposited on the plate and retained in the filter. Electrostatic filters well keep steam from various chemical compounds, cigarette smoke, but they are not suitable for the purification of air in homes. They are not suitable for domestic premises, as in the strong electric fields produced ozone that although the bactericidal activity, may cause irritation of the respiratory system.
