Planning for the demolition

Rebuilding is always associated with the need to undress or demolition of a house or parts of elements of the structure. It must be remembered that these works can only be carried out according to the design and supervision of authorized persons.

Planning for the demolition

The scope and sequence of demolition work must be indicated in the reconstruction project. In the drawings should be marked for demolition items. Typically, stripping certain elements or parts thereof makes it necessary to strengthen the other elements. For example, before the demolition portion of the wall must be stamped ceiling and execution of the lintel, cut a hole in the ceiling it is possible for the extra support and after reinforcement around the hole. How to perform these reinforcements must also be shown and described in the project. All work must be carried out in accordance with the design and engineering under the supervision of the building rights. Before beginning demolition and the demolition should be done all the necessary safeguards, namely: the mark and fence the area, protect all the passages and crossings in the range of works.
Workers working at a height of over four meters must be in a protective strip pinned to the ropes fixed elements of the building. Work at height are not permitted to drive in rain, snow and strong wind. Depending on the conditions of the demolition is carried out manually (using hammers and pickaxes), or mechanically - using electric and pneumatic hammers and circular saws. Elements of steel and concrete reinforcing elements are cut with oxygen-fuel torches and angle grinders. Demolition should be planned so as to maximize usable materials recovered for reuse. Those that will be used, must be collected separately and to protect against damage. Debris must be immediately removed from the building, not to be charged to the ceiling.
At the time of demolition:
  • Work area must be restricted and fenced;
  • Never stop people on lower floors during the work;
  • Holes in the ceiling must be tightly covered with planks or enclosed;
  • Do not dump any material;
  • Do not collect the debris on the floors, balconies, staircases;
  • Do not remove walls or other parts of the building by undermining or undercutting.
Do not throw it out the windows, it is best to pour it through a chute directly into the containers.
